Which Sexual Archetype Are You? Take the Test!

Sexuality is one of the most intimate and powerful aspects of our lives. Yet it can sometimes be difficult to understand exactly what turns you (and your partner) on. Why does one person need a sensual atmosphere while another wants to get straight to the point? Why does tension and anticipation feel like a turn-on for one person, while it is uncomfortable for someone else?

The five sexual archetypes come from the work of Jaiya, a sexologist who created this classification to help people better understand their sexual preferences and desires. The five archetypes are:

1. The Sensual – Loves touch, atmosphere, smell, music and aesthetics. This type has a romantic, sensual approach to sexuality and is aroused by a nice atmosphere and touch.
   
   
2. The Erotic-Energetic – Responds to tension, desire and anticipation. This type is attracted to subtle signals, distance and play of desire. Sometimes direct sexual contact can be too much if there is no build up.
   
   
3. The Sexual – Enjoys direct, classic sex and is easily aroused by visual or physical stimuli. This archetype finds sexuality natural and can become impatient with too many distractions.
   
   
4. The Kinky – Loves exploring taboos, power dynamics and unconventional forms of pleasure. This can be both mental (role playing) and physical (bondage for example).
   
   
5. The Shapeshifter – Has characteristics of all of the above archetypes and enjoys variety. This type can adapt to different partners and styles.
